Selamat datang kembali di Blog Ahzaa, pada post ini, saya akan menyajikan latihan soal Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) untuk menghadapi PTS/ UTS kelas 7 SMP/ MTs semester satu (ganjil) mapel . Materi PTS/ UTS PPKn mencakup dua materi bab yaitu pertama, proses perumusan dasar negara Pancasila dan kedua, beragam norma dalam masyarakat.

Can dan could merupakan bagian dari modal verb. Can dan could dapat digunakan untuk menyatakan kebisaan, kesanggupan, ijin, kemungkinan, dan sebagainya. Dalam konteks percakapan (lisan), tidak ada aturan baku yang mutlak tentang penggunaan bentuk can dan could ini. Namun dalam bahasatulis, ada beberapa hal yang bisa mendasari perbedaan penggunaan bentuk can dan could.

Sebelum masuk kedalam latihan soal, akan kita review terlebih dahulu bentuk modal verb can dan could dalam bahasa Inggris baik dalam penggunaan maupun contoh konteks kalimatnya.


Can
Bentuk modal can dipakai untuk menyatakan
1. Kesanggupan atau kemahiran seseorang
Contoh :
  • I can play the guitar and my brother can play it, too.
  • Bella can speak English but she cannot speak Japanese.
  • I am not a good swimmer but I can swim.
  • I will hold a party next Saturday but Lala can't come.
2. Minta ijin
Contoh :
  • My printer is broken. Can I use yours?
  • Can I borrow your car to take my grandmother to the hospital?
3. Menyatakan kemungkinan
Contoh :
  • She can be at home at night.
  • He works very hard. He can be the best worker this year.
Bentuk "Can" dalam kalimat diikuti oleh bentuk kata kerja dasar. Untuk kalimat negatif bisa ditambahkan bentuk not setelah can (cannot), atau kontraksi dari bentuk tersebut (can't). Pada kalimat tanya, can diletakkan sebelum subbyek kalimat.

Bentuk could
Bentuk could merupakan bentuk lampau dari can. Akan tetapi penerapan bentuk could dalam kalimat tidak selalu menyatakan bentuk lampau dari can, bentuk could bisa menyatakan permintaan dengan sopan. Bentuk could juga digunakan untuk menyatakan kemungkinan. Untuk lebih jelasnya, bisa dilihat contoh berikut ini,
Contoh :
  • I could run very fast when she was child. (Saya bisa berlari dengan sangat cepat saat saya masih kecil)
  • I felt so tired last night but I couldn't sleep. ( Saya merasa lelah tadi mala tetapi saya tidak bisa tidur)
Could untuk menyatakan permintaan tolong bisa dilihat pada contoh berikut ini, 
  • Could you help me to install the application? (Bisakah kamu memasang aplikasi?)
  • Could you take the book for me? (Bisakah kamu mengambilkan buku itu untukku?)
  • She could be very busy at that time. ( Dia mungkin sangat sibuk)
  • Could I speak to Mr. Dito? (Bisakah saya berbicara dengan Mr. Dito?)

Latihan Soal Imperative Sentence (Kalimat Imperative) Bahasa Inggris SMP

Imperative Sentence merupakan kalimat perintah. Dalam hal ini, kalimat perintah bisa mencakup kalimat permohonan, doa, dan sebagainya. Dalam konteks sehari- hari, kalimat perintah (imperative sentence) kita temukan dalam berbagai hal, misalnya dalam sebuah instruksi bagaimana membuat sesuatu --  procedure, perintah seseorang untuk orang lain melakukan sesuatu, dan sebagainya. 

Pada kalimat imperatif seakan- akan kalimat tersebut tidak memiliki subjek, Subyek dalam kalimat perintah ( Imperative Sentence) adalah orang kedua (you) yang sudah dianggap dimengerti sehingga tidak disebutkan lagi. Untuk memperhalus perintah, biasanya pada kalimat ditambah lagi dengan kata "please" yang diletakkan di awal maupun di akhir kalimat. 



Bila dibandingkan dengan kalimat deklaratif, di mana subjek dan kata kerja diidentifikasi dengan jelas, kalimat imperatif tidak memiliki subjek yang mudah diidentifikasi saat ditulis. Subjek tersirat atau elips, artinya kata kerjanya merujuk langsung kembali ke subjek. Dengan kata lain, pembicara atau penulis berasumsi bahwa mereka memiliki (atau akan) perhatian subjeknya.

Untuk membuat bentuk imperative sentence, ada beberapa aturan yang bisa diperhatikan, antara lain dalam keterangan sebagai berikut,

A.  Dengan kata kerja bentuk pertama. 

Kalimat perintah (imperative sentence) selalu menggunakan kata kerja (verb) bentuk pertama. Contoh :

  • Open the door!
  • Keep silent!
  • Sit down, please!


B.  Dengan kata benda, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan

Kalimat perintah (imperative sentence) yang menggunakan kata selain kata kerja ---kata benda, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan--- , maka menggunakan bentuk "be". Contoh :

  • Be quiet, please!
  • Be honest!
  • Be on time!
  • Be a president!


C.  Kalimat Perintah Negatif 

Untuk menyusun kalimat perintah negatif (larangan) , maka pembentukannya dalam kalimat adalah dengan menambahkan kata; "don't" di awal dari kalimat tersebut. Contoh :

  • Don't close the door!
  • Don't turn off the fan, please!
  • Don't open the window!

D. Kalimat Perintah negatif dengan kata benda, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan

Pembentukan kalimat perintah negatif (larangan) yang menggunakan kata benda, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan, maka pada awal kalimat  harus ditambahkan kata "don't be". Contoh ;

  • Don't be lazy!
  • Don't be careless!
  • Don't be a corruptor!
  • Don't be shy!

Too and enough adalah dua kata yang seringkali kita temukan dalam kalimat bahasa Inggris. Kedua kata tersebut ternyata memiliki arti dan konteks penggunaan yang berbeda. Sebagai contoh bisa kita cermati pada contoh berikut ini,
  • Anna can't buy the Rainbow Troops novel. The novel is too expensive for her. She hasn't got enough money.
  • Mr. Ali speaks English too rapidly. I can't understand what he said.
  • My mother bought me a skirt. The skirt is too small. I can't wear it.

Untuk mengetahui penerapan kedua kata tersebut dalam kalimat maupun dalam soal, penjelasan berikut ini mungkin berguna,

Enough
A.  Enough diikuti oleh noun, misalnya saja enough money, enough time, enough people, etc.
Contoh :
  • Is there enough sugar in the coffee? (Apakah kopinya sudah cukup gula?)
  • I can't go to my grandma's house. I don't have enough time to visit her. ( Saya tidak dapat pergi kerumah nenek. Saya tidak punya cukup waktu untuk mengunjunginya)
Perhatikan juga, 

Bahwa penggunaan enough dengan tanpa diikuti noun. Berikut contohnya,
  • I've got some money but not enough to buy the latest smartphone model. ( Saya punya uang tetapi masih belum cukup untuk membeli model smartphone terbaru.)
  • Would you like some more to eat? 'No, thanks. I've had enough'. (Mau tambah lagi makanannya? Tidak terima kasih. Saya sudah cukup.')
B.  Enough mengikuti bentuk adjective (kata sifat), misalnya good enough, warm enough, tall enough, etc
Contoh :
  • Hendra can reach the shelf. He is tall enough to take the books on it. (Hendra bisa menjangkau rak tersebut. Dia cukup tinggi untuk mengambil buku di rak tersebut.)
  • Dina is 17 years old now. she is old enough to have driver license. (Dina berusia 17 tahun. Dia cukup usianya untuk memiliki surat ijin mengemudi)
  • Don't wear that coat. It's not suit on you. It isn't long enough. ( Jangan pakai mantel tersebut. Itu tidak pas untukmu, tidak cukup panjang --- mantelnya terlalu pendek---)
Too
Dalam kalimat, kata "too" diartikan "terlalu". Untuk lebih jelasnya, berikut contoh kalimat berdasarkan konteksnya,
  • There is too much salt in the soup. (Terlalu banyak garam di dalam sup)
  • Adi wears his brother's T-Shirt. It is too big for him.(Adi memakai kaos kakanya. Kaosnya terlalu besar untuknya)
A. Too diikuti oleh adjective / adverb.
Contoh :
  • I feel sleepy now. I'm too tired.
  • Yes, I think you've worked too hard today.
B. too much dan too many
Contoh :

  • I don't like eating in this restaurant. There are too many people here.
  • Nanda studies too much. She prepares herself for the Math competition next month.
  • The main problem in Jakarta is traffic. There are too many cars here.

Membedakan penggunaan too dan not enough
Contoh :

  • The T-shirt is too big for me.  (kaos ini terlalu besar untukku)
  • The skirt is not big enough for me. (Kaos ini tidak cukup besar untukku ---kaos ini terlalu kecil---)

Latihan Soal Procedure Text Bahasa Inggris SMP

Teks Procedure adalah sebuah teks yang bertujuan  memberikan petunjuk tentang langkah- langkah/ metode/ cara melakukan sesuatu. Teks ini biasanya juga berisikan rangkaian tips atau tindakan untuk melakukan suatu aktifitas.

Teks procedure terdiri dari tiga bagian struktur yaitu :
  • Goal, yaitu tujuan dari teks itu sendiri. Umumnya tujuan ini adalah berupa judul, tetapi di beberapa soal procedure text, goal ini tidak ditampakkan sebagai judul tetapi disimpulkan berdasarkan isinya.
  • Materials, bahan- bahan yang dibutuhkan untuk membuat suatu barang (sifatnya opsional)
  • Steps, rangkaian langkah
Adapun unsur- unsur kebahasaan yang terdapat dalam teks procedure adalah 
  • Imperative sentence ( kalimat perintah), misalnya put, don't, mix, dsb.
  • Action verb, kata kerja yang berhubungan dengan aktifitas fisik atau intelektual, misalnya put, turn
  • Connective of sequence, misalnya then, while, next, dll
  • Numbering, urutan angka- angka dalam aktifitas, misalnya first, second, third, dst

HOW TO MAKE A SAIL BOAT FROM STYROFOAM EASILY

A 2 cm thick piece of Styrofoam
Writing paper
A stick like the one used for sate
Cutter

How to make it:
1. Cut a 4x10 cm piece of the Styrofoam for the hull and two pieces of 8 x 2 cm each for the floats. Make an arrow – like shape on one side of the hull. Save the triangles. Prepare two sticks of 15 cm long each.
2. Join the hull and the floats together with one stick. Push the other stick vertically into the hull for the sail. Put one of the triangles above the hull.
