Relative Clause sering disebut dengan istilah Adjective Clause merupakan clause (anak kalimat) yang digunakan/ berfungsi sebagai adjective yang menerangkan  keadaan noun atau pronoun. Dalam relative clause, biasanya dikenal dengan kata penghubung that, who, whom, whose, dan which sebagai relative pronouns, serta where, when, dan why. 

Contoh :
#1.  I have read the book (that) you just mentioned. (Saya membaca buku yang baru saja disebutkan)
Keterangan :
  • Main Clause (induk kalimat) : I have read the book.
  • Subordinate Clause (anak kalimat) : (that) you just mentioned.
***Anak kalimat menerangkan kata benda "the book", disebut sebagai Relative Clause/Adjective Clause 

#2. The lesson (that) she is learning is very difficult.
  • Main Clause (induk kalimat) : The lesson is very diffficult.
  • Subordinate Clause (anak kalimat) : (that) she is learning.
***Anak kalimat menerangkan kata benda "the lesson", disebut sebagai Relative Clause/Adjective Clause yang memberikan keterangan terhadap kata benda "the lesson".

Adjective Clause diklasifikasikan menjadi 2 macam berdasarkan the antecedent yang ditunjukkan oleh introductory words (kata- kata pendahulunya), yaitu :
  1. Relative Pronoun
  2. Relative Adverb

Dalam soal ujian bahasa Inggris SMK, topik preference biasanya muncul dalam bentuk soal incomplete dialogue. Tentu saja selain mengetahui tentang konsep penggunaannya, pemahaman konteks juga tidak kalah penting. Hafalan rumus mesti dilengkapi dengan pemahaman kontekstual dari soal itu sendiri.

Dalam ungkapan yang menunjukkan bentuk aktifitas di masa akan datang (future activity) hal yang paling penting adalah bisa membedakan penggunaan bentuk " be going to" dan 'will" sebagai ekspresi yang diterapkan pada future activity

Berikut sedikit penjelasan mengenai perbedaan kedua bentuk tersebut sebelum berranjak ke dalam latihan soal tentang "future activity".

#1. Keduanya baik "will" maupun "be going to" menyatakan aktifitas yang akan datang.

will : digunakan ketika kita ingin melakukan sesuatu tanpa suatu perencanaan sebelumnya. Biasanya bersifat spontanitas.
Contoh :

Helen : My bicycle has a flat tire. Can you repair it to me?
Father : Okay, but I can't do it now. I'll repair it tomorrow.


Be going to : digunakan ketika kita sudah siap  memutuskan untuk melakukan sesuatu .
Contoh : 

Mother : Can you repair Helen's bicycle? It has a flat tire.
Father : Yes, I know. She told me. I'm going to repair it tomorrow.

*** Ayahnya Helen sudah merencanakan untuk memperbaiki ban sepeda Helen sebelumnya.

#2. Prediksi kejadian di masa akan datang
Keduanya mengatakan apa yang akan terjadi (prediksi tentang apa yang terjadi di masa akan datang)
Contoh : 
  • Do you think Tom will get  the job?
  • Oh dear, It's already 4 o'clock. We're going to be late.

Going to : Menyatakan situasi dimana sesuatu memang nyata akan terjadi.
Contoh :
  • Look at those black clouds. It's going to rain ( awan yang dilihat menunjukkan akan terjadinya hujan)
  • I feel terrible. I think I'm going to be sick. (saya merasa tidak enak badan sekarang)
NB :
Kita juga biasanya menggunakan bentuk present continuous untuk menyatakan kejadian yang sudah disusun atau direncanakan sebelumnya.
Contoh :
  • What time are you meeting Ann? (atau Are you going to meet?)
  • I'm traveling to Scotland on Monday (atau I'm going to travel)

Dalam soal incomplete dialog, soal yang menunjukkan bentuk future activity biasanya dilihat berdasarkan kata kunci (keyword) penggunaan kata atau phrase "will" dan "be going to" pada konteks percakapan yang terjadi.

Sistem pembelajaran berbasis e-learning mengedepankan sistem pembelajaran yang melibatkan penggunaan teknologi baik itu sistem elektronik maupun komputer. Tentu saja sistem ini membutuhkan sumber daya yang baik untuk mengelolanya baik guru maupunn faktor sarana- prasarananya. Adapun tujuan diterapkannya sistem ini sendiri adalah untuk memberikan fleksibilitas, interaktivitas, dan kecepatan melalui media yang dibuat.

Contoh penerapan teknologi yang tepat kita  sesuaikan dengan topik atau materi yang akan kita ajarkan. Selain itu kita juga mesti menentukan sarana atau media apa yang akan kita gunakan dalam hal tersebut. Salah satu webtool yang bisa membantu kita adalah Flipgrid.

Flipgrid dirancang untuk memberikan siswa sebuah cara yang menyenangkan dan kreatif untuk mengembangkan tugas video yang diberikan oleh guru mereka dengan cara sederhana kemudian mengintegrasikannya ke dalam kelas mereka.

Langkah awal, Guru menugaskan siswa untuk membuat sebuah proyek pekerjaan menggunakan Flipgrid. Sebagai sampel guru menugaskan siswa mengirim ulasan mini buku, film, atau acara televisi. Flipgrid akan mengumpulkan berbagai tanggapan siswa pada satu topik. Anda bisa menanyakan siswa di akhir unit atau akhir tahun untuk merefleksikan apa yang telah mereka pelajari dan apa yang akan mereka merekomendasikan kepada siswa lain.

Langkah selanjutnya,  untuk memulai Flipgrid, ada dua bagian utama pada tutorialnya yaitu untuk guru dan untuk siswa.

USE OF FORMALIN AND OTHER ADDITIVES IN FOOD

The use of formalin and other dangerous preservatives in food has been a serious for two reason. Firstly, formalin is not for human beings, but it is for biological specimen and experiments. Formalin in Biology is a 10% solution of formaldehyde in water which is usually used as a disinfectant or to preserve biological specimens. Thus, it is not for food preservative, it will be very dangerous to human's body.
The second reason is that there is no tight control from the government. This condition makes the people's health is really in a threat. When the control is weak and the use of formalin is spread wide all over the Indonesian regions,and these days it has really happened, the citizens' bodies will be badly contaminated with the poisons. Fish or food traders still sell their products which contain formalin and dangerous preservatives. Can you imagine that our digestive system absorbs the substance that should be for the human and animal corpses?
Considering the reasons, we can make a conclusion that the use of formalin and other preservatives is really a serious problem if it is not resolved immediately.

The number of damaged roads linking Jakarta with West Java has certainly provoked complaints from locals and road users. Take for an example, the roads in Bekasi and Tangerang, which have been the focus of the media.
The poor condition of these roads not only jeopardizes road safety but also gives a squalid impression. Moreover, the condition will get worse when it rains. The roads are transformed into water pools or puddles, which can easily cause accidents if motorists are not careful.
No wonder if some people question why there are so many damaged roads and why repairs do not seem to last long. The government should pay special attention to these problems.
In my opinion, the road should be repaired using the right sort of asphalt, stones an sand. Repairs should be done carefully so that the roads can be prevented from constant damage. Otherwise, the repairs would be useless.
